(Our Lady of Mercy)

Gospa od Milosrđa is the tiniest island in Tivat Bay, 200m in diameter, of which half occupies a complex dedicated to the Virgin Lady of Mercy. It is located between the coast of Krtole and the island of Sv. Marko (Stradioti). Archival sources mention the Celestin monks on the island from 15 century, who soon leave the monastery to Franciscans. Franciscans held the monastery until the late 19th century when the island becomes the residence of the bishop of Kotor. Today the monastery is in possession of the Jesuit church. Monastery church was rebuilt in 1900 thanks to the bishop of Kotor Ućeliniije - Tice. The single-nave church was built with material from older buildings and more fragments from other sites, most likely the nearby Prevlaka. Especialy interesting and worth is a wooden statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Our Lady of the Island, which is believed to be miraculous, and the statue could be from 15th century.
